All About the Moonlight

Moonlight Threads is a woman-owned business located in Lucas, Texas, part of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Carla O’Donnell – the company’s founder, owner and chief operator – began her business in 2004 in her home on Moonlight Trail. At the beginning, it was just one woman, one embroidery machine and one creative dream, working together for a little extra income on the side.

But word spread quickly of Carla’s eye for design, attention to detail, and high-quality workmanship. The business boomed, moving into a separate workshop and growing into a full-fledged company. Today, Moonlight Threads’ address is still on Moonlight Trail, but it’s much more than a moonlighting gig – the shop includes eight professional staff members, four state-of-the-art embroidery machines, two rhinestone machines, a commercial chenille machine, a laser, heat presses, vinyl and fabric cutters, and many other cool tools of the trade.

Community Pride, Community Threads

At Moonlight Threads, our favorite part of what we do is supporting our North Texas community through our work. We love providing killer custom apparel to other local businesses, civic groups, clubs and churches – and particularly to our kids. Whether they’re into sports, the arts or other extracurricular activities, we love our three-peat state-champion Allen Eagles, our “big cat” schools – the Lovejoy Leopards, Plano Wildcats, Plano East Panthers and McKinney Lions – our Plano West Wolves and Frisco Raccoons, and the swashbuckling Wylie Pirates … as well as all the elementary and middle schools supporting them!

We’re proud of our community and our kids – so we make sure they feel proud to wear our products!!

Additionally, Moonlight Threads supports its schools via philanthropy. We contribute regularly to PTAs, athletic booster clubs, fine-arts and other organizations throughout Allen, Lucas, Plano, Wylie and other North Texas communities.
